Nieces and Nephews

We've gotten to see some of our newest nieces and nephews over the past month. Tim, Karen, and Amanda came to visit at the end of April and we went back to Indy for Katie's shower just a couple days later. Megan joined all the girls for the shower, which she loved. Here are some pictures of everybody...

And of course this is what happens when Uncle Phil babysits...

And the triplets (well, 2 at least)...

Nesting

This weekend I started nesting :-) All gifts from the shower have been unpacked and looked at least 5 times. While I'm organizing or re-stacking diapers, clothes, blankets and burp cloths in the nursery, Brian was busy cleaning our apartment and putting together new bedroom furniture. My mom is making liners for the changing table baskets and as soon as those arrive I will start washing everything. We are also waiting for our glider to arrive.

I will be at 32 weeks this Thursday. On Thursday night, we have our Late Pregnancy class and on Friday my doctors appointment. We also have pre-registered at the hospital, so they will be ready for us. I can't believe we only have 2 months to go - my pregnancy feels like it's flying by.

I feel great. I stopped teaching my two Pilates classes in May. I'm still teaching a strength class once a week and walking. The baby likes exercise and kicks me in the ribs when I sit down to rest afterwards.

Indy Shower

Last weekend Brian and I flew into Indianapolis for my baby shower. Natalie, Karen and Aunt Betsy did a wonderful job and it was nice to see everyone! Brian's parents, Karen and Megan drove over from St. Louis for the shower.

Weekend Recap -
On Friday, we met William Royle for the first time and got to hang out with him and Emily. Evan came over for the day, so we got lots of play time in - wow, he has grown since Christmas and giggles more than any kid we have ever met! We had a cookout at Nat's and Bret's house on Friday night with Brian's family.

On Saturday - the shower. It was amazing with lots of great food! Three courses - cheese, tea & sandwiches and ice cream for dessert. (I actually love gelato lately... or maybe like it a little more than usual.) Everyone decorated a square that will go into a baby quilt my mom is making - Megan and the Coy girls had a blast.

Sunday - Another great perk to the weekend was I got to spend time with my mom in person for Mother's Day. Grandma Mary came over in the afternoon for dinner. Brian and I picked her up so we could meet her little dog Cinnamon - a toy poodle with lots of energy!

Monday - Natalie and Bret let Evan spend the night on Sunday so we could play with him before we left for the airport. Uncle Phil taught him how to decorate with toilet paper :-) The flight back was long and I felt like I ran a half marathon, I was a little slow moving off the airplane.

Nats and Karen did a great job with all the decorations

Coming in November

Five years ago, I set out to to change careers and to one day be a part of the artistic development of an animated film. After several years of working full time and taking classes, trips back and forth from California, and continuing to learn on the job, I'm excited to say that I finaled my first shot last week! What does this mean...come Novemeber, when everyone goes to see DreamWorks Megamind, you will see my work up on the silver screen.

I've been helping out a department called Character FX (CFX). In a nutshell, we "improve" every shot that extra 10% and take care of anything the character interacts with. That means we'll simulate all the clothing you see on a character, take care of contact with other objects, clean up any bad looking deformations etc.

I haven't fully made the transition from production to artist, but this is a big step. Go see Megamind!

On another note, I've updated the belly slide show and we'll have a couple more posts from all the activities the past couple weeks. Stay tuned...
