Easter Weekend - Friday & Saturday

On Friday, Mom and Zoe trekked up to DreamWorks for an Easter lunch. As with any holiday there, they sort of go all out. There was a big egg hunt (Zoe missed it, but would have been too young anyhow), the Easter Bunny came to visit, there was lots of candy, and all sorts of festivities. Zoe loved all the kids and got to play with her first balloon, which was a big hit. Zoe also thought she should buy Mom some flowers (or at least that's what Mom told me), so she had some fun playing with those as well.

On Saturday, we went to the park. Whenever we go outside now, Zoe gets super excited and starts kicking her legs everywhere and giggling. She really loves to go to the park and crawl around in the grass and on the playground. We brought her basket along for some more entertainment.

Easter Weekend - Sunday

As with any holiday or birthday for Katie, one day usually becomes 3 or 4 days of fun (for her birthday, that rule stretches to a week of celebration). Tonight as I was getting pictures ready to post, she told me I had to make one big post from the whole weekend, then started singing the 12 Days of Easter. We compromised, so the Easter posts begin, just backwards.

Zoe got to visit the church where her Mom and Dad got married for an early morning mass. She found a little 3 year old boy to keep her entertained. Grandpa taught her how to pat heads when he was out here, so now she attacks anyone in sight trying to pat their head, no matter if they're adults, 3 year olds, or babies.

For dinner we headed down to Uncle Mark and Aunt Amy's. Evidently our boycott has worked because now we get bribed with great food so we stop by. Last weekend it was steak. For Easter it was Lamb (and some great cheese for snacking). We brought down Sangria to keep Mark calm, and little Catie took care of entertaining Zoe, so the adults were pretty good to go. We even managed some family photos out front of the house.

Zoe's Easter basket consisted of egg shakers that were a big hit and her first tin of puffs that wasn't such a big hit. No egg hunt this year...

Tubby Time

Zoe has graduated to taking her baths in the big girl tub. She started out taking tubs with Mom or Dad in with her. (Funny side story, when Dad took his first tub with her, she thought there was an extra toy in there that wasn't actually a toy) She's now taking tubs on her own and loves to splash and chew on all her toys. She's even starting to figure out naked time afterwards. She won't lay on her back for us to put a diaper or pj's on and instead bolts off and crawls around her room, climbing on anything she can find.

Spring Time Visit

Grammy & Grandpa were going through a bit of Zoe withdrawal (especially Grandpa), so they used some frequent flier points and came out for a visit. It was perfect timing for Mommy and Daddy too because we were itching for a night (or several) off!

Zoe had lots of fun playing with her grandparents. They are much more entertaining than her parents! Grammy got lots of snuggles in since she was on sleeping duty the whole trip. Zoe didn't like when they left and she had to go back to Mommy and Daddy's stricter ways. And Grandpa got all kinds of giggles and belly laughs performing for Zoe.

This was definitely a trip for Grammy and Grandpa to see Zoe because we barely spent time with them. We hightailed it out to dinner on Friday night, and then took off mid-morning on Saturday for a trip along the coast in Marin, and then over to Santa Rosa for the night. It was a great drive and we got to stop off for some wine tasting and to refill our stash. We also had a great wine country dinner that night as well. By the time we came home Sunday, Zoe could care less who we were, just as long as Grammy and Grandpa were around.

Changing Every Day

It seems like every time I come home from work these days, Zoe is doing something new. It's really amazing how fast she learns something new. I also think she grows an inch or 2 as well because she looks so big when I get home. It's hard to believe how much she changes week in and week out. Like this, not even 3 weeks ago...

Zoe Loves Her Mom

Over the past week and a half, Zoe has started into her separation anxiety stage. But only for Momma. It's now at the point that she gets very excited for Daddy to come home, smiles when I walk in, then immediately starts to get very whiny and extremely nervous anytime Mom isn't in sight. And as soon as Mom leaves...

She pitches the same fit even if I hold her, looking at me, then looking at the door like I'm supposed to bring Momma back. If you look closely, you can make out some of her crocodile tears she forces out as well. This is all making us very nervous when she learns about tantrums.

Trying Out the Swing

We've finally had a run of good weather and today we took Zoe out for a walk to the park. She loved crawling around in the grass and moving back and forth between Mom and Dad. We decided that she was ready for her first go with the swing and plopped her in. She wasn't too phased and patted the seat, then tried to give it a little taste test like she does everything else.
